General History

The 12Th. Group was first formed in Tottington in 1942, by Mrs. Read & Mrs. Isherwood, with cubs and scouts.
Bombed out in 1944 by a German V1(doodle bug). Scouting continued after the 2 world war and used the local CO-OP. Camping was done using a trek cart for local camps, and the train which went from Tottington For camps further away. And this is how it continued up till the close of local railway stations in 1956. Now, as with most activities Parents cars are the main "troop" movers.

Outside events include, Canoeing, Hill walking, Rock climbing and Swimming, usually taking place at camp in Wales or Hereford. Trips to local places of interest are undertaken as often as time and cash will allow. The most recent was, Ice skating at a near by rink and a trip to the local Police station(the dog handler kept them all very quiet).

In the Groups current form we have Scouts,Cubs and Beavers. Meeting on Friday nights at the St. Annes church hall (Tottington). New members and adult helpers are more than welcome at any time and world wide contacts are always replied to.
