Before we can continue and deal with the above circuit,we need a bit more theory.
Resistors in SERIES ie connected one to the other in a "daisy chain" and for any thing to happen
we have to connect a SUPPLY,in this case 40v DC. To find out the total current that will flow
in the circuit we have to know 2 things 1. Total resistance. 2. Applied voltage.
To calculate the total resistance we do the following.
R Total = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 (This is an important formulae) therefor the total = 20 Ohms.
The applied voltage = 40v. So using Ohms law,current = voltage / by resistance and
will = 2Amps. So things to remember. R Total = R1 + R2 + R3 + R4 Etc.
