About me andmy family |
My name is Reg,I am 70 years old and now
retired. I am married to the best girl in the world Lynne. We have 2
children, both grown up with families of their own. There names are
Louise and Gordon. We have 3 grand children,Garry,Craig
and Stephanie.
We all live in and around Bury.
I have worked since I left school,first as an
apprentice baker and confectioner,then the call came
from HM forces to join up,this was in 1955. I
fancied a new trade so I joined the Royal Signals
and spent many a happy hour in Caterick Camp. I
eventually rose to the rank of Corporal,and
passed my grade 1 radio tech. exam in 1957. I
worked on all manner of radio equipment from
an output power of 1 watt to 400 watts
I have been in electronics ever since. In 1979 I
started teaching my skills to other people, first
with the "Skill Centers" run by the
government and when they were disbanded,at the Ford Motor
company in Halewood, home of the Escort and
Orion. This was ended suddenly with my need for
a triple heart bypass operation. I then took
early retirement. Since that time I have
spent more time with my family, played with
