The Irwell Valley
Bury is situated at the head of the Irwell valley that extends east towards the pennines. There are
many quaint villages and towns as you would expect from an old cotton area. The main river is of
course the river Irwell. Since the departure of our main industries the river is once again clean and
good fishing can be had on its banks
I hope you like my little peep show of town and country pictures and I hope one day you will be able
to visit us. I know you will recieve a warm Lancashire welcome when ever that is.
